Web 1.0 or Web 2.0? Why the need to assign a version to the Web. Web “2.0″ technologies have always existed, and have been around since the beginning of the Web in it’s different forms. Google has 726,000,000 citations for Web 2.0. When did this start? How did it become so widespread? I suppose the effect of the Dot com bubble bursting had some affect on it, and might have made it seem that one era was over and a new one started.
Where does that put LXPages.com? Would it have succeeded in the era before the Bubble? Am I now somehow implicitly agreeing that Web 2.0 in some way makes sense? I think if it were to make any sense, it should be used in the context of the Bubble. But not in the technological aspect.
LXPages.com will do well and is in a better position to do better than if it were to have existed in the pre Bubble days. Largely due to the fact that the Internet is like the new TV and the new Telephone.
